TANSA

Manipulation

Two ornate masks, one gold and one black, rest on a stone ledge surrounded by green ivy and flowers, with a garden path, blooming trees, and a fountain in the background.

Tansa is the person who seems wonderful when you first meet him—charming, intelligent, helpful, trustworthy. But underneath that exterior is manipulation.

Tansa represents the people who benefit when everyone else is fighting—the ones behind the scenes who understand that divided people are easier to control. The ones who sponsor uprisings and encourage people to fight against each other. He puts people into situations that make them feel guilt, fear, anger, or doubt. Then, when they're emotionally vulnerable, he appears to come to their rescue.

But he isn't really saving them. He's bringing them under his control.

He feeds anger. He encourages suspicion. He whispers into one person's ear, then into another's. And eventually, people who might otherwise have helped one another begin fighting each other instead.

Like Tansa, manipulators understand something very well:

If you can make people hate each other, they stop looking at who is benefiting from the hatred.
